I had such a good day today.
It was beautiful and sunny and hot. My high school best friend Crystal, the one I visited last week, came over to my house with her hubby and her puppy. I wanted her to show her puppy off to my parents and tell them about her new house. She's always had a really good relationship with my parents so I knew that would be important to her.
Dinner took a little longer than expected so we didn't end up eating until after seven but it was nice anyway because we ate on the back deck.
Then I grabbed my camera bag and tripod and headed out the door. I've taken my dog with me so many times that as soon as she sees me with my camera bag and sees me grab the car keys she gets overly excited and pushes herself out the front door.
We got to the park and the park was overflowing with people. There seemed to be some sort of event there and there were just tons of people. For some reason that just made me very happy, to see so many people from my community just out enjoyed each other.
I had such a good day today.
heartsways got me The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson for Christmas and I've been reading it. It took me a few days to work through it, a few pages before bed, while I ate my breakfast, etc. But a few days ago it really captured my attention and I've been breezing through it fairly quickly, but not so quickly that I don't savour the words.
As it looks in that picture, I'm about halfway through the book. I'm quite in love with it, though I'm not sure how I'll feel by the end. The author uses language brilliantly, his turns of phrase and metaphors are just achingly beautiful.
Fire is a central part of the story, for many reasons, so I wanted to portray a physical representation of the novel.
I took her out for her second or third walk yesterday and took my camera. I was trying to capture the look of fall and take pictures of fallen leaves when she jumped in my way, naturally. So I took a few shots of her laying in the leaves on someone else's lawn. I really like how this picture turned out. It may actually be one of my very favourites.
The one I was specifically looking at was 100_situations and their prompt tables. I was considering even using one of those tables.
My photo muse has all but died and I really need to jump start it.
My extra user pics have expired and I'm down to 54 from 124 and I'm bereft at my pretty icons being all gone. :( I think I might buy new ones as well as renew my extra storage when I get paid.
But there is cake and monies so I will go to work.
And then I will come home and spend all the money I've made in the last three weeks on a new camera. How's that for a saving plan? I think I'm going to have to do one of those picture memes where people tell me "take a picture of your bedroom/your cat/your earlobe/the sunset/something else that will tell me something about you in picture format." Those are always fun.
I need to get an icon of Veronica Mars holding her camera.
