I want to live in a Xenomania-produced world.

Seriously. I love the tracks Xenomania writes so much I'm trying to find Lene Nystrom's solo album from 2003 just so I can hear the songs they wrote. That those songs were later covered by Girls Aloud may also have a lot to do with it but I digress.

And, uh, this led me to downloading both Aqua albums. Who cares if they have a greatest hits album coming out in two weeks? I need my beyond bubblegum pop now.

I'm tired but wired at the same time. It's making me act strangely, clearly.

[+] I'm so bored and tired and cranky today.

[+] I did watch Legend of the Seeker which pleased me in many ways but I need me a hardcore Cara episode where she is hot and gay with Kahlan and kicks ass. And makes more faces of epicness.

[+] I'm working on a lot of landscapes lately and I'm irked that I'm not out right now with my friend at the beach because it clouded over. Booooo.

[+] My whole house is being painted which gives me too many headaches. :(

[+] I'm in desperate need of some good fanmixes. I say this because I was working on two in itunes and then itunes deleted the library I was using and replaced it with another library. So now they are nowhere to be found. Itunes undermines my authoritay at every possible opportunity. So listening to some new stuff is just what the doctor ordered. Especially since I've listened to 'Becky' by Be Your Own Pet far, far too many times in a row now.

Concerts are always more fun when you don't go alone. This is my problem.

Also a problem? Stars, Kate Nash and MGMT are all in TO in the same week. Bad form, guys. Also, I know that $36 isn't bad for concert tickets but I really hate paying more than ten bucks to go see someone if they're not Kylie or Girls Aloud.

My big problem is that music popular with hipsters tend to have the WORST crowds. Going to see Bright Eyes a few years ago was one of the worst concerts I've ever been to because you couldn't hear Conor Oberst over the screaming of the audience and they were highly obnoxious. If I wanted to hear teenagers screaming, I'd go to work, y'know? On the other hand, screaming at gigantic concert halls doesn't bother me and neither does insane moshing at tiny clubs.

Blah, blah, blah, I might still go see Stars anyway because I really love them and I bet they give a really awesome live performance.

[+] Last.fm tells me that in the past seven months I have listened to 1000+ unique artists. Which is funny considering I didn't even know I could name 10 unique artists. Right now I'm listening to a lot of The Eames Era, The Sounds (a rec from here, yay!), Broken Bells and Hot Chip. Broken Bells just released their first album this month and it's amazing.

[+] Life stuff is happening. I can't tell if it's good or bad. I think I'm moving in the right direction in a lot of ways and in some particularly painful directions in others where I'm not sure if things are going to be okay. I'm trying to be fine with everything that's coming but I'm not very good with emotions so I'm pretty scared. This is pretty vague but I just don't want to get into the complicated things involving personal relationships, family, grandparents, etc.

[+] I've had a complicated, photoshop heavy image in my head for a few days but my base shots yesterday didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted them to and today I was just too tired so everyone cross your fingers for tomorrow. Hint: it involves wine and flowers. And no, I am not photographing me seducing any pretty young things, unfortunately.

[+] Reasons #1-11 of why Legend of the Seeker is my favourite show of the moment:

Thanks to everyone for the music recs the other day. I've checked out a bunch of the groups/artists mentioned, if I hadn't already heard them.

POLL because I'm bored and yay! March break!
[Poll #1537375]

I'm also considering trying to download as many episodes of America's/Britain's/Australia's Next Top Model as possible to make screencaps and notes on all the photoshoots in it. I'm just anal enough to do it too. Or just enough to get halfway through before giving up.

Guys, I am feeling desperate for music. I have no idea why since I have hundreds upon hundreds of different artists on my harddrive but I've been really in the mood to hear something new.

So rec me some of your favourite music. I like pretty much everything though I'm not wildly crazy about most top 40 music right now unless it is majorly catchy. So punk, rock, classic rock, indie, bubblegum pop, boy bands, girls and guitars, boys and guitars; pretty much everything I'll give a listen to.

I've included a few screenshots of my most-listened to artists off last.fm so you can see what I listen to most. big pictures )

I will now go back to picspamming Olympians and watching The West Wing, my happy place.

I don't even care about Grey's Anatomy and half watch it before bed so [livejournal.com profile] heartsways can babble and I'll know what she's talking about but THIS is too cute. I'm sure most people have been it before but awwww.

Also, I'm seriously amused that the itunes shuffle played "Untouchable" by Girls Aloud and then "Untouchable" by Garbage. Awesome.

So, Chezza's video. I'm not really wild about this song. It's growing on me but I think it's rather ordinary. I like the split-screen visuals and the very non-Chezza outfits and hair that Cheryl is trying. I used to be so obsessed with videos and now I can barely be bothered for anything that isn't Girls Aloud or Kylie but I watched this one.

Oh, I just got home at 7pm tonight because of the bus taking and walking home (the parentals are at a golf tournament). I bought hair dye, so by tomorrow my hair shall be a different colour because I am sick of this red colour. Oooh, what colour shall I be next?

Anyways, I listened to the following songs about half a dozen times each on the way home:

Bad Religion - Epiphany
[Error: unknown template video]
My favourite song of all time. If I say I've listened to it a thousand times, I might be undershooting it.

Ben Lee - Catch My Disease
[Error: unknown template video]
This song is just so poppy and fun. I can't get enough of it. Also, I find Ben Lee to be remarkably attractive in a "let's get high and make out in the basement to Pink Floyd" kind of way.

I'm in desperate need of some new music. So tell me what you guys have really been digging lately.

I'm into all genres from hardcore punk to poppy and mellow indie songs. I like things I can dance to and things that will make me cry. Anything and everything.

Here's a couple of songs I've been listening to on repeat a lot lately:
Jill Cunniff - Lazy Girls
Bad Religion - Epiphany
Ben Jelen - Rocks
Joshua Radin Feat. Ingrid Michaelson - Sky

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

1. Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels) - The Arcade Fire
It's so beautiful. I've listened more than a dozen times in the past day I love it so much. Also, everyone, please note how "neighbourhood" is supposed to be spelled. The Arcade Fire is Canadian and so, that is how you should spell it.

2. Crown of Love - The Arcade Fire

3. Take It Easy (Love Nothing) - Bright Eyes
Guh, just guh.

4. We Used to Be Friends - Dandy Warhols
I first heard it because of Veronica Mars but I love the longer version even more. So applicable to my life.

5. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
I don't know why but I am really just completely in love with The Who this week.

6. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths
Because I'm always always digging Morrissey. And the Sassy Fashion Squirrels but that is another matter entirely.

7. In the Sun - Joseph Arthur
For some reason this song just resonates with me.

Honourable Mentions: Summer of '69, Bryan Adams; Killer Queen, Queen; Road Trippin', Red Hot Chili Peppers; Rebellion (Lies), The Arcade Fire; Under Pressure, David Bowie and Queen.

Does anyone else think that Destiny's Child stole the driving guitar beat in 'Bootylicious' from Stevie Nicks' 'Edge of Seventeen'?

Also, CHUM fm just played Stevie Nicks then Cyndi Lauper's 'She Bop'. Someone at CHUM is lovin' me today.

ETA: I just googled and apparently Destiny's Child "sampled" 'Edge of Seventeen'. That's just code for "we couldn't come up with anything original so we stole".
